Marissa and Ryan wanted a low-key, beach wedding with the best views possible. They loved the West Coast and decided on Strandkombuis in Yzerfontein as their venue of choice.
It was the perfect day – one of the few days in December that the wind didn’t blow at gale force speeds. The sun was shining, but not too hot, there was a gentle breeze and the ocean was the perfect, typical West Coast blue.
The décor was rustic, but elegant and we used different hues of coral, purple, white and cream in the flower arrangements and dotted throughout the venue.
Marissa’s family all came down from the USA for the wedding and they loved the beach, the West Coast hospitality and the delicious food that has become synonymous with the Strandkombuis.
Because of the perfect weather, we could open the sides of the tent in the venue and guests could enjoy the most beautiful sunset whilst feasting on the freshly baked breads and mussel soup that was served as a starter.
All-in-all, it was an amazing and very special wedding and we were so grateful to have been a part of it (and that we could do a beach wedding with such great weather- a rare gem in Cape Town!)
