We were thrilled when we were asked to plan this celebrity couple’s wedding in JHB in 2012 and since it was their anniversary this week, we thought that we would do a bit of a “flashback” of their wedding for the blog.

The wedding was held at the beautiful Oxbow Country Estate in Bronkhorstspruit, Gauteng and the theme was one we loved. They wanted to go “green” with their wedding, not just the colour scheme, but with some of the elements as well. So, mingled with silver and crystal, we played with wood and natural elements to bring detail to the day.

The wedding was filled with so many special moments and one that I will always remember is Zetske’s walk down the aisle. It was quite a long walk across the grass and she wanted to walk alone until she reached the arch at the beginning of the aisle. Just before she started walking, a very light drizzle of heavenly confetti came down, cooling down the afternoon and making everything sparkle. She came into view, the picture of elegance and sophistication, but as she got closer, I could see a little happy tear forming on her cheek. Her father, bursting with pride, saw this and just couldn’t stand there watching any longer. Ever so gently, he went to fetch her to walk with her the rest of the way. It was beautiful.

The rest of the day followed suit and was one big celebration of love, joy and immense happiness. Just as the couple stepped into the hall from their photoshoot, the heavens opened in full force and lightning coloured the sky outside as the guests enjoyed their evening with the newlyweds.
