Glitzy West Coast Glam

We are absolutely smitten with this shoot!

We were commissioned by Memory Box Photography to help them plan a shoot for the Southbound Bride blog’s competition earlier this year. We loved the idea of a glamorous beach wedding and wanted to play around with gorgeous metallics to give some of the typically South-African elements a bit of a facelift. Both Langebaan and Paternoster played host to our shimmering soiree and the results – as you can see- were simply sublime!

The base of our table was a rose gold, sequenced tablecloth and crowning the festivities was a sardine chandelier, sprayed with touches of gold. We played around with various shells and other found objects and used wood and bone in the cutlery, chairs and centre pieces to bring in an earthy and grounded feel. Our couple were dressed in contrasting textures – the groom in a natural, all white linen, and the bride in a shimmering, gold fabric with a tulle train fit for mermaid royalty. Her crown was made of copper wire and softened with leaves and bits of cotton. They looked fabulous together!

The Basutu blanket kept out the evening chills, as the ocean cooled down for the night and the sun said it’s last goodbyes over the rims of the sea.
