Tash & Craig: A beautiful Constantia celebration

Tash and Craig where ready, set, go to get married on 28 March 2020. Suppliers were paid, timelines were set up… and then we had to cancel all our plans a week before the wedding due to South Africa going into hard lock-down due to the  Covid-19 pandemic.

All the joy and pent up excitement quite suddenly had nowhere to go. There was just… silence. We all felt a little defeated. Suppliers were contacted and new plans were made to postpone the wedding to 30 January 2021 (because, surely, by then Covid would be something of the past… right?)

We carried over all our plans and dreams to this new date and hoped for the best.

Then December came around and new restrictions were put in place, forcing us to change course yet again.

We decided to split the wedding up into a quiet, intimate ceremony at their beautiful home in Constantia and a party reception later this year on the bride’s 40th birthday.

With a curfew of 21:00 in place and a strict cap on guest numbers, the ceremony was not at all what we had in mind at first. But it turned out to be absolute perfection.

It was a true celebration of love and life (lemons and all…) and the beauty that happens when two people truly want to be together for better or for worse. It was opulent and luxurious, heart-felt and sincere and in the end, the bride and I agreed that it was just perfect.
